Advancing the Future of Breast Screening
The MyScreen Trial is an Australian research study looking at whether offering additional, more sensitive breast imaging after a normal BreastScreening mammogram can improve detection of breast cancer in people at higher risk. It’s the first trial of risk-adjusted BreastScreen screening pathways in Australia.
About the trial
For Participants
The MyScreen Trial will recruit participants from NorthWestern BreastScreen by invitation only. The intervention will be the offer of an additional breast imaging test (either MRI or contrast-enhanced mammography).
Project Partners
The MyScreen Trial is led by the University of Sydney in partnership with Melbourne Health, BreastScreen Victoria and Breast Cancer Trials, with input from the Breast Cancer Network Australia and other consumer representatives.
Trial Team
The trial is jointly led by epidemiologist Associate Professor Carolyn Nickson from the Cancer Elimination Collaboration at the University of Sydney and breast surgeon Professor Bruce Mann from Royal Melbourne Hospital, with radiologist Dr Allison Rose from BreastScreen Victoria and the Royal Melbourne Hospital and epidemiologist Dr Louiza Velentzis from the University of Sydney, supported by a team of investigators and personnel including researchers, clinicians, program managers and consumer representatives from the University of Sydney, BreastScreen Victoria, Melbourne Health, Breast Cancer Trials, and the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
